Fathers and Sons, Mothers and Daughters: Bringing healing and wisdom to elder and youth
A workshop at Esalen Institute with John and Ocean Robbins
Do you want healthier communication with your parents or kids? Do you sometimes feel like your relationship with family members is lost in a time warp and long to get up to date with who you are and what you’re capable of now?
Would you like to know how to relate to elders and young people, and to feel connected and respected?
Do you want a more vibrant, honest, and loving relationship with your parents, your kids, or yourself?
John and Ocean Robbins have been working together as a father-son team for more than twenty years. They are joining forces to help you bridge generational divides, and to bring healing and fun to your relationships with the elders and youngsters in your life.
Using circle sharing, facilitated exercises, artistic and creative expression, reflection, playful games, and the building of heartful community, we will bring compassion to our wounds, hold one another’s truth with love, and create space for learning, growing, healing, and having fun.
We know that every life stage brings its own gifts, challenges, and perspectives. And we need each other, across the age spectrum, if we are to create thriving lives and communities.
This workshop is for parents, children, elders, and youngsters of all ages. It is for you to come alone and find a family, or to come with family and find a community. It is a place to reflect and build together. And it’s going to be lots of fun! All ages and stages welcome!
John Robbins writes: “Our children and our grandchildren carry the seeds of the future. They come into the world endowed with new possibilities, new understandings, and new energies. If we can provide them the respect and assistance they deserve, they may be able to accomplish things we cannot. They may be able to correct the errors of past generations, including our own. Then our children will not only be free to be themselves, they will bring a new breath of life into the world.”
